05 January 2013: The UNCG men's basketball team suffered its first Southern Conference loss of the season Saturday as the Spartans dropped an 85-53 decision to preseason favorite and reigning league champion Davidson. The loss drops the Spartans to 1-1 in SoCon play while the Wildcats improve to 3-0 in the league after their encounter at Belk Arena in Davidson, North Carolina.
